You could always buy a "wireless" sensor bar or create you own with infrared lights. If it's worth your time/money, that is.by jarvolt - Ideas, requests
I'm a big fan of the Warlords arcade game, and even now I'll play it, along with "Lords of Lunar" which was hidden on the "making of" Lunar:SSSC disc. I think a Wii version could work well. Control schemes could be using the analog stick on either the nunchuck or classic controller (mimicking the fast movement you get with analog control in Lords of Lunar), the accelerometer (tilting thby jarvolt - Ideas, requests
This would be incredible if it had support for multiple kinds of dance pads. I have a PSX to USB adapter that works with dance pads; I'd probably start using it again with the release of a Wii version of StepMania. Good luck, I hope this works out.by jarvolt - Homebrew General
I'd also like to know if the latest Gecko OS will reboot with hooks for 4.0. That's what's holding me back.by jarvolt - Homebrew General
I've had the exact same problems. Though the first time I loaded up the new version of Geexbox it worked fine. Since then, no luck.by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
Wow, this is infinitely more usuable than past versions. My only complaint: it's kind of hard to tell which button is selected. The yellow/blue scheme is kind of ambiguous. I'm loving the save manager though. It's pretty much perfect (just needs the ability to delete).by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
I would think this would be in the realm of possibility if the DS had Bluetooth, but it doesn't. I can't see it working very well over wifi. And you say you're not asking about emulators, but that's the only way I can imagine it working. There's nothing built-into the Wii that lets it play DS games. I'm no programmer either, but I would not get your hopes up on thby jarvolt - Ideas, requests
QuoteArikadoQuotejassimno it doesnt, lol, it stays in effect till you turn your wii off No, it stays in effect until you physically unplug your Wii. I can personally testify to that as I have turned my Wii of countless times after rebooting with hooks and the hooks were still working when I turned my wii back on. The only way I've managed to get rid of the hooks was to physically unplug my wby jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
Quotebg4545QuotejarvoltI don't see why you can't just download them from the shop channel again. Am I missing something? The Forecast Channel and News Channel are not on the Wii Shop Channel, they are installed by default Huh... I was thinking they had to be downloaded on the Shop channel, but I guess they came with firmware updates? I'm surprised I didn't remember that. But tby jarvolt - Homebrew General

I recently bought a Bluetooth adapter that also doesn't seem to work. It's this one: BlueSoleil will recognize it, but it won't connect (all four LEDs on the remote keep flashing). I've tried everything, and I think it just might be the adapter. Anyone else have experience with the same one?by jarvolt - Homebrew General
Great for a first release. I was surprised it lets you browse for different stations. I assumed you would just browse *.pls files from the SD card (which is actually what I'd prefer, but it's all good). :) I'll be looking forward to the next release.by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
Wow, that looks like an uncomfortable controller (not to mention it's ugly). Not to rain on your parade or anything, but the official classic controller is pretty much perfect, with the exception that it's tied to the Wiimote. I rarely trust unofficial controllers in the first place. They're almost always worse than the original. I mean, I used to use a Barracuda controller forby jarvolt - Homebrew General
It doesn't work for VBAGX, and I've had mixed results with others. For example, my VBA GX savestate and battery saves from 1.05 and saves from the desktop VBA do not work at all with VBA GX 1.06 or 1.07. Also, new saves from FCEUX on the desktop so not work with FCEU GX (desktop saves seem to be extra compressed with FCEUX).by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
Is there some way I can convert saves from old versions of Wii emulators or even desktop versions of emulators so they are compatible on the latest Wii versions of these emulators? It's kind of frustrating for older save states and battery saves to no longer work.by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
QuoteArikado^ Erm, you can agree to the new user agreements without updating to 3.4 Lets not forget that IGN could be wrong too. Yeah, they may just be inferring based on the new EULA, and there have been rumors about being able to run games off the SD card.by jarvolt - Homebrew General
Just to be clear, if I update a Wii to 3.4U that has not used the Twilight Hack or anything previously, and install using the new Twilight Hack, is there any way to use DVDx, Starfall, Gecko OS or anything like that? I'm thinking about what the best course of action would be for my brother's Wii (I just updated it from 3.0 to 3.2 with Brawl). Went on the IRC channel for assistance. Mby jarvolt - Homebrew General
Get a game that has the update. I believe Super Smash Bros. Brawl has it. EDIT: I just tested it with a Wii that had 3.0 on it. Brawl does indeed update to 3.2U. I think the European version is different though.by jarvolt - Homebrew General
Yeah, most commercial games and TV shows take into account overscan, it just seems to be something that a lot of Wii homebrew developers have overlooked. Maybe in future versions they can move the text a little closer to the center. I definitely notice it when I use CRTs, fortunately I use an LCD TV at home, which looks great.by jarvolt - Homebrew General
Just so you guys know, even if they did have the latest version of flash for the Internet Channel, it most likely wouldn't work very well on most video sites anyway. My computer is a dinosaur, and the processor is on slightly faster than the Wii; I can't even play Hulu videos anymore (they seemed to have changed how it buffers the video recently) and most video sites are extremely slowby jarvolt - Homebrew General
Selfishly, I admit there's an app I'd love to see created. Something like SD explorer but it would identify channel/save data on the SD card (or even from the internal Wii memory, if possible) and would allow easy backup. Instead of memorizing which folders full of BINs corresponds to what, why not a program that lets you back up a save file or channel to a single file that can be laterby jarvolt - Homebrew General
I just noticed that my old saves for VBA GX no longer work (savestate or battery). I'm wondering if there's something I can do to "fix" them? I even tried using some from my PC installation of VBA to see if they would work, but they did not. They are still "ROM name.sav" and "ROM name.sgm" right?by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
Ah, I was searching "GCBoot" and wasn't getting anything. Thanks. Though I'd hate to buy a game and have it end up not working. I'm torn.by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
QuoteDanielHuehoUse GCBoot for booting GC import games. I can't seem to find this GCBoot. Help? I had been thinking about importing a Gamecube game lately; only, of course, if I could get it to play on my Wii. I mean, I'd hate to have to resort to emulation because of a) legality, b) compatibility, and c) I have a crappy computer that can't run anything modern anyway.by jarvolt - Homebrew Applications
I don't see why individual homebrew apps can't include support for other controllers (I've got a good ol' wired USB Xbox 360 controller that I have used exclusively for my PC). I'd guess it would be hard/impossible to get VC and WiiWare games to recognize them, though.by jarvolt - Offtopic
QuotebuddypepperWow - funny turn of events....I just stumbled upon this: It's a vista gadget (or rather, where the Vista gadget connects to) for Pandora. It runs a much smaller Flash application than the full blown one.....If I plug this into my PC browser it works...gotta try this on the wii when I get home!! Well, the main Pandora site does use a lot of RAM. I still use a seven year-old computer that can barely handle it. It only really works as long as nothing else is open, and I'm not browsing other sites. BUT, they do have versions for mobile phones and other devices, right? So why not petition them to release an official WiiWare app? I would pay for it, absolutely. It would certainly be wby jarvolt - Homebrew General
