I totally forgot to mention that. I dunno why I didn't post about it immediately. Well... Every time he formatted through the System Settings, all of his hacks were instantly disabled. Bear in mind he's using Priiloader though (hacks are the same for both, I think... but I thought it was worth notig the diefference). This was checked twice, by reenabling the hacks, formatting again aby Magil - Homebrew General
My response wasn't meant to be like a scolding or anything. Mine was simply an advice. You're free to follow it or not. I'm not even an admin, or a mod for that matter. But it seemed a bit annoying to find three consecutive really short threads by the same author in a small ammount of time. That's irrelevant now. You can mention ISOs and ROMs, so long as you don't go aby Magil - Homebrew Applications
QuoteobeydrxI have the latest version of the Homebrew Channel (version 1.0.8) and Menu Version 4.3U. However, I'm unsure as to whether or not I should download this latest version of the menu that they posted later this year. This is a follow-up thread to a previous thread: It is quite lengthy, and it might require reading the linked thread (though I've tried to re-explain this as clearly as I could here again). Ummm... seriously... what was the reason for your post? You can do with your Wii whatever the hell you want. I don't care if you brick it, set it on fire, push it over a bridge, chuck it at a wall or let it sink at the bottom of the lake. You are, however, completely screwed if you somehow break it to the point of it being inoperable by illegal means. Nintendo is in all it's gloriousby Magil - Offtopic
It would not be a matter of them being included on the HBB... at least not yet, but finding people dedicated to making them using the available homebrew code, WITHOUT using any of Nintendo's code. It would be wise, next time, that if you have similar problems between emulators, to enlist them all neatly in a single post, instead of opening several of them at once. Enumerate them, and people will most likely help you with what they know rather than going through all of your threads one by one. WTF, and who the hell are you? Even though this is an off-topic section, it is NOT meant to be used for advertisement. I'm no mod or admin, but please: TITS OR GTFO. I sound more retarded than usual, sure... but "retarded" is the only language advertisers understand. Sheesh.by Magil - The Junkyard
It would be wise not to discredit people so harshly. Even though he may be a relatively new user to these forums, it doesn't obviously imply he's a newbie to programming. Now, I'm not saying he IS an experienced programmer, but I bet you don't have any evidence that shows he isn't, heh. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt right now, and all of you should. Someone has gotta lock this old post up... sigh... Anyways, no. This is hopefully not the final version. In fact, and if you pay real close attention, it's still in beta. Well... at any rate, and since I took jbc007's word for it... the last thing I told my friend was to go ahead and delete that title. Well, not exactly an instruction... I told him that it might NOT do any harm, but then again it MIGHT, but since there was no more info around available around this title, it was relatively "safe" to delete. Ok, I'm back with news... When I said format, I didn't mean flashing the NAND and starting from zero. I meant using the Wii's built in Format option found somewhere in the Wii's settings. I know it only kills off saves and channels. But anyways... Since he has no bootmii as boot2, using FS Toolbox was obviously out of the question. Instead, I had him navigate through his sby Magil - Homebrew General
Yes... or so I've read over and over again. Sigh... I guess I might've come out as a noob with baseless theories and stupid ideas in the end. But let's look at it this way: we have a way to save the box with the lock (dumping NAND with infectus). As long as we have that lock, we can try shoving sticks and molding clay 'till we find the way we can pop open this lock. So iby Magil - FixMii
All of Tantric's latest versions of his apps are prone to crash if your Wii is not connected to the internet. Even WiiMC (but this one seems to crash with alot less frequency). It's all because of IOS58... God, how I hate IOS58. Yes, you heard me well. I said I HATE IOS58. There. Hmph. Just look at Priiloader v0.5 and it's amazing brickin' power. Ummm... right. The download link doesn't work, but upon quickly googling, I found this on wiibrew: However, this one pertains an older version, compared to the one contained in the link I gave. Awww, crap... really, crap, crap, crap T___T. And I was just about to discuss that same thing... There are still a few more things I can possibly ask, before actually giving up on this promising idea/topic of mine (sigh): Now, I'm still a bit baffled by the ammount of keys the Wii requires for many tasks, but isn't there some sort of "master key" approach we could use? That's basically it in a nutshell. It's the same with books, TV shows on DVDs... you never actually purchase "The Wii". You never actually "own" the Wii. You only pay for the right to have and use a "copy" of the console in your possesion. A "License" if you will. But that's it really. That's exactly why I encouraged for anyone reading this topic to read gbafail's threads on the matter. Also, and let me strongly emphasize: THIS IS NOT MY WII. Hmmm... I seem to be getting somewhere... and I'm starting to feel excited. Anyways... Some time ago, I was reading about Team Twiizers first attempts at getting homebrew to run... and I found an interesting bit: After all, they didn't have no bootmii when they first tried to get their NAND, or keys for that matter. There's even a link there where said attack was detailed eby Magil - FixMii
Now, I'm doing my research across various places on the net, and I'd like to go about posting questions regarding my findings and crazy noobish ideas I have along the way. Let's say that a theoretic bricked Wii does not have bootmii as boot2, and does not have a vulnerable boot2 that I could use to install bootmii manually. Could there be a way then to install bootmii somewhereby Magil - FixMii

This post is related to this, much older post, regarding a problem that came up with me friend's Wii: After restoring his Wii to a functional state, there has always been one problem bothering my friend, and that's being unable to get his Wii connected to the internet (for this same reason, he's been unable to use WC24... but that's implicit). Interesting little bit of info... however... would it be impossible to fix a brick using a NAND programmer WITHOUT a healthy NAND backup from the same Wii? Say... using a generic NAND backup (have no idea where to find one... might just find it if I look hard enough). If not... wouldn't it be possible to manually reprogram the NAND? @onilink422: It is illegal to play any hacked game, even if you own the original cart. If you've read any game instruction booklet, it specifies on the back that while you may backup your game for your own personal purposes (I dunno today... most likely this reads different nowadays), it forbids explicitly the modification and/or reverse engineering of the game.
