1.- If you want to avoid bricking, you should install bootmii as boot2, or Priiloader. If you ever screw something up, this is THE ONLY WAY to recover. Since you're asking about a brand new Wii, you will most certainly be unable to install bootmii as boot2, so you'll have to settle for Priiloader. So, is the whole "Homebrew Web Browser" idea been abandoned completely? I always thought that, because this thread seemed so long, that it was because there were progress updates constantly posted here, saying what was going on and stuff. Not much of a difference... only that you might get a corrupted download with HBB by it being interrupted somehow and telling you it's finished downloading, or HBB crashing mid-download. I've rarely used HBB, but as I recall, it doesn't actually inform you if something went wrong with the download (???). Try downloading the game from Wiibrew through your PC and manually copyingby Magil - Homebrew Applications

It's most likely an emulation issue. Do you know how outdated the emulators that WiiEngine is based upon are? So far, the only decent PCEngine/TurboGrafx 16 is, unfortunately, the commercial emulator MagicEngine. XPCE and HuGo! are pretty old and abandoned. There are several newer, constantly updated alternatives available, like Mednafen (???) or Ootake... but it's all a matter of waby Magil - Homebrew Applications

I was assuming from the beggining he was using legitimate original discs to play with, therefore I'd think that he'd have absolutely no trouble using the apps. I'm aware of cIOS249 discussion status here on the forums... but I was just proposing a method. Well, upon doing some research on your recommendations, it seems that most of the games recommended here aren't multiplayer at all. As a matter of fact, Google spit me out some nasty links regarding the Elder Scrolls series and how some of their fans were pissed off at other people who kept asking for a multiplayer patch and whatnot. I know this is a fairly old thread, and that 1.4.1 is out, but still I thought of posting the following. 1.4.0 (and I guess 1.4.1... I'm gonna test it sometime later today) loads flawlessly through HBC 1.0.6, and when I mean "flawlessly", I mean without having to edit the xml file and deleting a string, no "random" crashes or hanging. I've been my connecting my Wii to the internet on several ocassions to play Monster Hunter Tri online with random people. This might sound stupid and quite farfetched, but... how about asking Nintendo if they can transfer his saves for him? That is, if any homebrew method fails to do so (without having to install HBC first). Also... there's "Savegame EXTRACTOR" available, which is also in Wiibrew and as far as I can tell, doesn't require any cIOS to run (though since it was made by the same guy as Savegameby Magil - Getting Started

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I've had some RL problems lately, heh. Haven't been able to really sit down in front of my computer for 2 weeks now. I think I'll have to consider getting a better computer before taking upon any of these games. Create a folder called "apps" and put it in root of your SD card. Like so: sd:/apps/ Inside the apps folder, you'll place any games, emulators, programs, etc. you want to use. This is the only place where HBC will look for them, and if you place them anywhere else on the card, HBC will not be able to load them. Let's suppose you want to use SNES9x GX. So, recently a friend of mine had this urge to start playing multiplayer RPGs with me. We recently finished a Seiken Densetsu 3 game we started about 2 years ago, yet he was still raring to go for more. I suggested Secret of Mana, but he didn't like it all since he didn't like the controls and the rhythm of the battle system. It isn't limited to FF8. It happens on all games. There's a moderate chance the emulator will not save your game in it's native format (as in, saving to your virtual memory card), and while the devs have said to "addressed" this issue (it really made no difference to me between v2.0 and v2.1 in this regard), truth is that the probabilities of it NOT saving are still pretty much higby Magil - Getting Started

File association can be removed by either uninstalling VLC, going into VLC's options and removing BIN files from it's own file listing, or going into your Windows registry and manually removing it. Well, I think I feel free to talk about it now, after SifJar resolved to confess it was his own personal conviction the one conflicting to wether or not to tell you how to use your emulator. Ok. Sorry for not reporting back sooner. I had to prep a PPT presentation for tomorrow, and had to catch up on some missed work. Haven't yet thoroughly tested, do I did download the supposed corrected version, which I only tested for around 5 minutes or so.
