1.- If you want to avoid bricking, you should install bootmii as boot2, or Priiloader. If you ever screw something up, this is THE ONLY WAY to recover. Since you're asking about a brand new Wii, you will most certainly be unable to install bootmii as boot2, so you'll have to settle for Priiloader. The actual things you should avoid doing is installing custom channels and/or themes withoby Magil - Getting Started
QuoteNintendoFreakYou are just going to get the "We don't support piracy, buy your games and you will have no problems." from a mod/ admin soon, which is true. That's what you get for pirating games. While this policy is true, your insinuation is has no basis and your proposed solution/recommendation would have no effect at this point in time. So, is the whole "Homebrew Web Browser" idea been abandoned completely? I always thought that, because this thread seemed so long, that it was because there were progress updates constantly posted here, saying what was going on and stuff. I was hoping for at least a way to update the Internet Channel's Flash Player at the very least, since I'm unable to play videos in most sites thatby Magil - Ideas, requests

Not much of a difference... only that you might get a corrupted download with HBB by it being interrupted somehow and telling you it's finished downloading, or HBB crashing mid-download. I've rarely used HBB, but as I recall, it doesn't actually inform you if something went wrong with the download (???). Well, quoting the website's About page itself : "Tibia is one of the oldest and most successful massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) created in Europe." There are many reasons I don't like MMO's. First, there's the incredible ammount of grinding one usually has to go through just to gain a level. While most people would agree that that's what anby Magil - Offtopic
It's most likely an emulation issue. Do you know how outdated the emulators that WiiEngine is based upon are? So far, the only decent PCEngine/TurboGrafx 16 is, unfortunately, the commercial emulator MagicEngine. XPCE and HuGo! are pretty old and abandoned. There are several newer, constantly updated alternatives available, like Mednafen (???) or Ootake... but it's all a matter of waby Magil - Homebrew Applications
Quoteg_manFirst, if your being paranoid about nintendo finding you using homebrew while on the internet, don't worrie about it. As long as you don't use any cheats then they will never find out. I'm aware of that. I'm paranoid like most people about System Updates and such, and one other thing that's too... ummm... I'll talk about it once "that" has "ended". Donby Magil - Homebrew General
I was assuming from the beggining he was using legitimate original discs to play with, therefore I'd think that he'd have absolutely no trouble using the apps. I'm also still curious if installing then stubbing cIOS249 would still leave traces, since that would be his main concerby Magil - Getting Started
Alright. I've been meaning to ask about this, so... what exactly does that string do? And would it's abscence make apps like Genesis Plus or WiiMC that supposedly crash by this string (???) stop crashing?by Magil - Homebrew Applications
Well, upon doing some research on your recommendations, it seems that most of the games recommended here aren't multiplayer at all. As a matter of fact, Google spit me out some nasty links regarding the Elder Scrolls series and how some of their fans were pissed off at other people who kept asking for a multiplayer patch and whatnot. What I asked in my first post was MULTIPLAYER RPGs. Youby Magil - Offtopic
I know this is a fairly old thread, and that 1.4.1 is out, but still I thought of posting the following. 1.4.0 (and I guess 1.4.1... I'm gonna test it sometime later today) loads flawlessly through HBC 1.0.6, and when I mean "flawlessly", I mean without having to edit the xml file and deleting a string, no "random" crashes or hanging. And I would believe so since it's not using the oby Magil - Homebrew Applications
I personally considered this the correct subforum, but if I'm wrong, feel free to move this to a more appropriate section. Anyways... This might sound stupid and quite farfetched, but... how about asking Nintendo if they can transfer his saves for him? That is, if any homebrew method fails to do so (without having to install HBC first). Also... there's "Savegame EXTRACTOR" available, which is also in Wiibrew and as far as I can tell, doesn't require any cIOS to run (though since it was made by the same guy as Savegameby Magil - Getting Started
Quotemr_nick666Sorry to revive an old thread but I'm the graphic artist on the FCEU and VBA Channels. Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately, I've had some RL problems lately, heh. Haven't been able to really sit down in front of my computer for 2 weeks now. I think I'll have to consider getting a better computer before taking upon any of these games. Create a folder called "apps" and put it in root of your SD card. Like so: sd:/apps/ Inside the apps folder, you'll place any games, emulators, programs, etc. you want to use. This is the only place where HBC will look for them, and if you place them anywhere else on the card, HBC will not be able to load them. Let's suppose you want to use SNES9x GX. So, recently a friend of mine had this urge to start playing multiplayer RPGs with me. We recently finished a Seiken Densetsu 3 game we started about 2 years ago, yet he was still raring to go for more. I suggested Secret of Mana, but he didn't like it all since he didn't like the controls and the rhythm of the battle system. Secret of Evermore shares also this scheme, and he wasn'by Magil - Offtopic
I'm running on no sleep right now... I skimmed through Caanoo's specs, and at first glance I'm led to believe it'll never handle any third generation emulators (N64, PS1). However, if someone feels I'm wrong, do correct me. Also, I want this one:by Magil - Offtopic
Well, you ARE clearly and blatantly breaking the rules, given that we do not support piracy of any kind. This is not limited to only game backups and warez, but also any form of media. Unfortunately, there is no standard way to rip audio from a Wii game. This has been true since the good ole Gamecube days. The reason for this came when Nintendo switched storage formats (from cartridges to DVDsby Magil - Offtopic

It isn't limited to FF8. It happens on all games. There's a moderate chance the emulator will not save your game in it's native format (as in, saving to your virtual memory card), and while the devs have said to "addressed" this issue (it really made no difference to me between v2.0 and v2.1 in this regard), truth is that the probabilities of it NOT saving are still pretty much higby Magil - Getting Started
File association can be removed by either uninstalling VLC, going into VLC's options and removing BIN files from it's own file listing, or going into your Windows registry and manually removing it.
