QuoteSifJarI apologize if this seems mean, but its what separates us from GBAFail and the like, with their rumours and scaremongering and silly links. LOL @ scaremongering... yikes! *hides from SifJar's wrath*by Magil - FixMii
It basically means you're on system menu 4.3, and bannerbomb no longer works for that version of the sys menu. You'll have to use a different exploit for your homebrew endeavours. There are currently 3 other exploits you can use: Smash Stack (requires US version of SSBB), Indianapwns (requires any region Lego Indiana Jones game), Yu-Gi-Owned! QuotetruchabugHi i have a problem! I want to install the homebrew channel on my wii 4.2 (updated with firmware updater 4.2 from waninkoko) I have a message error saying that there's not an ios where i can install it! Here's your first issue... using waninkoko's updater. Sigh... what does this guy have that entices n00bs into using his fail updater? And why did you want to updby Magil - Homebrew General
This wasn't supposed to be a request thread originally, but... oh well... You can create forwarders with CustomizeMii using other preexisting channels as base. I personally don't know how to use it, because I sincerely feel to lazy to learn how to (and I have no real need to create any forwarder, since the ones I need already exist). There are a variety of tutorials out there where yby Magil - Homebrew Applications
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone" or something like that... I've figured that, so long as they don't directly affect us, it's pointless to simply go around tossing insults like small children. QuoteDJYoshimanI have used it before, but I just bought this hard drive 2 days ago. It's not on the compatibility list, so I wouldn't know. However, I did search up for this issue on this forum before (although all solutions didn't do a thing for it), and noticed that some one replied with a suggestion of testing out it's compatibility with the configurable usb loader, soby Magil - Homebrew General
Not essentially a problem related to having my Wii bricked (God forbid), but still related to the topic. I've been lurking in the forum's shadows for some time (all the while, trying to help out and answer different questions related to homebrew to the best of my abilities), and a concept I keep watching pop up with rather consistency is "manually programming the NAND with a programmby Magil - FixMii
Ummm... please don't go necroposting (reviving old threads without adding anything relevant). The "official" SNES9x forwarder will be released when it's released. Not a moment before or too late. Tantric has already stated he isn't the one in charge of it, rather a couple of his minions. Have you used HBC 1.0.6 before? If so, did your HDD work then? Not all USB devices are compatible with the Wii. And it seems that with the latest version of HBC and IOS58, some devices seemed to have lost compatibility somehow.by Magil - Homebrew General
QuoteRocker91wiisx and wii64 need official forwarders. That being said, where in God's name is the Snes9xGx channel? There is no "official" SNES9x channel forwarder available yet. Hmmm... so, just a small recap. - Nintendo CANNOT (legally) auto-update. It requires for the user to accept to download and install the update when prompted. - Nintendo CANNOT (techincally) auto-update. The way the sys menu is currently coded cannot support for automatic updates (for some reason... ??? ), yet if enabled in WC24 (even more ??????) it CAN auto-update, unless it were somehow cby Magil - Homebrew General
Quoteshauna5535Again, I hope I haven't broken any of the rules. I don't know what a wad is or a cios or a modchip or anyof that. :) I don't mean to misjudge you or anything, but you do seem to know what you are talking about. Otherwise, you wouldn't have mentioned these terms, since they are rather irrelevant to your problem. But then I might be mistaken... anyways... Iby Magil - Homebrew General
QuoteElija2Wii64 works fine for me and I'm using 1.0.8. Really? What kind of device are you loading roms from? I've only heard about 2-3 people that still retained those emulator's functionality under 1.0.8 I'd be really interested in knowing how it works for you.by Magil - Homebrew Applications
First, and this should be stressed alot more: PimpMyWii is one of the worst apps out there. I sincerely don't know who told you to use it, and what he promised it would do. It does serve a purpose, but it's not an app that should be used by the inexperienced (even I don't know how to use it, and given that I've had no problems thus far that required it, I don't care aboutby Magil - FixMii
QuoteXICO2KXQuoteeMalcHi, When I try to load up Wii64 via the HBC, it loads fine. However when I try to choose a game to load on it, it complains that there was an error when trying to load "/wii64/roms". I've checked and double checked, and this directory is there in the right place afaik. Does anyone have ideas as to what could be going wrong? Thanks for the rather informative answers I've gotten so far. I never did intend on having WC24 on at all. As winmaster stated and many other people across the net as well, it'll only damage the GPU in the long term. Upon doing a bit more informed research on Google using the terms you lay here before me, there are no actual "automatic" updates, at least none while your Wii is conby Magil - Homebrew General
I was just about to start a topic on this agenda. Somebody beat me to it, heh, but it's all good... anyways... IOS58 is indeed slower than IOS202. Now, I can't crunch you any numbers and give you all the usual details a more experienced programmer/hacker, but all I that I say comes from personal experience. And after trying both HBC 1.0.6 with IOS202 and HBC 1.0.8 with IOS58... Iby Magil - Homebrew General
I'd rather not go around updating, when everywhere I go to strongly advises against it. And I've read oh so many sad tales of many folk crying about how an update killed their Wii. Since there isn't anything worth obtaining in this update (other than IOS58, but I already got it through Tantric's installer... and IOS58 sucks compared to IOS202 anyways), I wouldn't want toby Magil - Homebrew General
QuoteHelpMiiikk how about the gamecube launcher tho. i would also need to have the launcher on the card? Backup launchers are NOT supported here. Back to the topic at hand... it'd be best to install forwarders instead of full channels, ESPECIALLY with the constantly updated nature of several of these emulators. Would you actually be willing to constantly be reinstalling full channels everyby Magil - Homebrew Applications
I would also note that it's better having it as an IOS that not having it at all. The chances of recovering from a brick are alot worse when you just have Priiloader (though I think that there still might be a chance of installing bootmii while only having Priiloader available. Not sure though). It makes no difference if you ever nuke your NAND for some or other reasons (cuz bootmii wouldby Magil - Getting Started
Don't remove them then. You'll keep encountering these problems all the time. The thing is that (if I'm not mistaken) you still have the exploit in there, which causes the Wii to crash and thus, attempt to load your .dol file. I can't remember exactly what the name of the file and the directory the exploit is supposed to be in (only hacked one Wii, my Wii, and it was a long tiby Magil - Getting Started
Reading the manual got me nowhere... googling it would lead me towards non-related topics... to be brief, I don't understand the Wii's behaviour when it's connected to the internet. So... returning back to the topic at hand... is it even worth deleting both the News and Forecast channels? I want to get rid of them because I don't use them, look just so damn fugly on the sys menu, and because I want to use the blocks they use up. But according to what someone else said in this thread, they indeed NOT give you any free blocks. Is this true, or am I missing something? Iby Magil - Homebrew General
Quotejbc007 If SaveMii/SaveMiiFrii does not work, my guess is that your NAND was formatted. If this is the case, you could send it to Nintendo, as they will not be able to detect that you have homebrew. It is possible that they will fix it for free, especially if you sound like you have no idea what happened when you talk to them. Your other option is to use a hardware NAND programmer to restoby Magil - FixMii
I might do that some time in the future. I thank the highly informative answer you gave me. Read for about 2 hours (I don't like going to hackmii.com for the same reason: I can spend 2-4 hours reading stuff over there and forget eveything else in the world =P.by Magil - Homebrew General
Thought so. Last question though... should I delete the channel through those means, could I then install a different forwarder for the same emulator with the title ID without any conflicts?
