The .cue references the .bin, but that's a simple fix. Just open the cue in notepad and replace any instances of the original bin's name with the new one.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
Make sure that the write protect switch isn't on on the SD card. Try another SD card or USB drive if you have one available.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
In my experience, you don't even need to create the folders yourself. It will automatically create them when it tries to save. What happens when you try to save? Edit: Also, the default folder is just sd:/snes9xgx/saves. It's not in the apps directory.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
Oh, one other thing. Does VBA GX automatically account for widescreen settings? FCEU GX and snes9x GX both have "16:9 correction" settings, but VBA GX does not. Would "maintain aspect ratio" keep the screen the proper ratio in both 16:9 and 4:3?by raptir - Homebrew Applications
No, you need the Netflix disc, which is free through Netflix.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
Specifically the GX emulators, since they seem to have the most. What are the "proper" settings to get it as close as possible to an original console? I know that the default settings on VBA GX cut off the top and bottom of the screen, so I've set that to scale down to 95% in both directions, but what about FCE and snes9x? Does the 100% setting just take into account overscan? I notice tby raptir - Homebrew Applications
But doesn't it also autosave if you turn the Wii off while it's running?by raptir - Homebrew Applications
That would make sense, so that you don't accidentally load an old save when you just want to go back to your latest save, but I don't really want to risk that kind of wear-and-tear to my SD cards without some confirmation...by raptir - Homebrew Applications
I guess this is mostly a question for Tantric, or anyone else who's examined the source code significantly. I notice that whenever I have autosave enabled, in any of the three * GX emulators, it seems as though the autosave file is being written to constantly. Any time I go to the save or load menu, the last-written time is always right then, even if nothing has been saved in-game recently.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
Sorry to point out the obvious, but you could have just renamed the bin/cue files instead of finding one with a different name.by raptir - Homebrew Applications

I want to be able to boot either the SysMenu or HBC depending on either user input or which SD card I have in the drive. Here are my limitations... - I'm using this for playing Rock Band/Guitar Hero, so I want to be able to choose between them with the Guitar Hero World Tour guitar plugged in. Preloader does not accept any input when the GHWT guitar is plugged in to the Remote. - Sinceby raptir - Homebrew General
I have a Kingston SDHC Class 6 4GB card. It is listed as compatible on the Wiki, but does not work when I try to load BootMii using it. The drive flashes and boots to the system menu as though no card were in there. Could reformatting possibly help? Or is the Wiki wrong here?by raptir - BootMii Beta
Is there a particular game you're having issues with? I know, for example, that Link to the Past has a lot of slowdown if you have a lot of enemies on-screen. Even if there are only a few, charging up your sword can lead to slowdown because of all the effects. It's very possible that the game you're playing had slowdown issues on the SNES.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
I haven't personally used those channels your speaking of, but have you tried Gecko OS? It works very well if you just want a way to boot discs directly from the HBC without returning to the Wii menu.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
The emulator shouldn't be accessing your SD card after it reads the ROM in initially. I know, for example, that my USB HDD will spin down if I'm playing an SNES game off of it. Are you sure you're just not remembering the slow down from the cartridge correctly? I know I thought that LttP was slowing down too much in snes9x GX, then when I tried playing it on an SNES again the slowby raptir - Homebrew Applications
I downgraded to 10, and it seems to work fine. The only reason I had upgraded to 14 was for a couple bug fixes that remedied bugs added in in 12 and 13.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
I know I have another topic open about freezing, but I wanted to open a different one to discuss the cause of this problem. I'm currently running... System Menu 4.1 U HBC 1.0.3 cIOS 38 rev 14 Hermes' cIOS (latest) installed as 222 The latest cIOS USB from the MPlayer CE site MPlayer CE 0.75 As of yesterday, it would play but freeze occasionally. The funny thing is that I never had MPlayer CE freeze until this last update where they said that they fixed the freezing issues... Edit: Without changing anything, it's now freezing every single time I try to load a video...by raptir - Homebrew Applications
Saving the SRAM means that you're saving the game's current save data. So if, for example, you're playing Final Fantasy 3 and do an in-game save, you can then do an SRAM save to store the save data. If you're using the default settings, it should do this automatically. A Snapshot is the * GX emulators' version of a save state. I think that's what you want to be usby raptir - Homebrew Applications
You could install it in Preloader to launch whenever your Wii starts, if you wanted it to replace the Homebrew Channel.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
I've been using MplayerCE 0.75, and despite the changelog it still freezes on me fairly regularly. I've had a few other applications freeze on me occasionally, but that's never worried me. My question now is if this frequent freezing through MPlayer CE (to the point where you need to hold the power button on the Wii to turn it off) could be bad for the Wii. My assumption is no, sinby raptir - Homebrew Applications
QuoteTantricIt's open source - submit a patch. Well, I was trying to clarify how it worked. If the auto-save was saving every time I accessed the save menu, that's one thing. If it's saving constantly that's something else. I also don't think "do it yourself" is a good response. I obviously would if I knew how to code for the Wii. Not every suggestion needs to be metby raptir - Homebrew Applications
I realize the scenario is unlikely and would take a long time to occur; I've worked on designing Flash memory in the past. I'd still rather avoid unnecessary wear to my SD card, if possible. I'd love if he could implement something like what the PC emulators do: auto-save the SRAM only when a change is made to the SRAM data in the game.by raptir - Homebrew Applications
Until recently I have been playing with Autosave enabled on snes9x GX. I noticed, however, that every time I went to the save menu it was updating the time of the autosave SRAM slot. Does this mean that it is re-saving the SRAM every time that I visit the save menu? Or even more often than that? I know it's not a huge deal, but flash memory does not have unlimited writes and I would rather nby raptir - Homebrew Applications

I doubt it's the modchip. When I was having issues, everyone said that it was probably my D2PRO9. From what I've learned since then, it seems that having a chip only gives you problems when attempting to install DVDx through some of the old methods. Once you have it installed you should be fine.
