If we can do that, we might even be able to create a change-aspect-ratio signalby daniel_c_w - Ideas, requests
The idea is the same: While loading a disc game's executable into memory, patch it. Can be done with a new system menu / IOS Even the biggest patches shouldn't be above 1MB.by daniel_c_w - Ideas, requests
He doesn't want to display or relay Teletext, he wants to generate it. I also thought about that. Would be a cool, but propably pretty useless. Showing it can be done would be all the funby daniel_c_w - Ideas, requests
I think, that's a good idea. Should be done on all platforms, not just the Wii. A per-user per-game settings file. (May even be included in the game's .zip)by daniel_c_w - Ideas, requests
Are you a Pal gamer and not used to see Super Mario Bros. running at 60hz?by daniel_c_w - Homebrew Applications
QuoteSteelSLasherAlso, i was thinking that to be able to patch games easily a mass storage of some sort most be plugged in the backNo, patches do not need so much space. (The Xbox 360 does it in 4MB)by daniel_c_w - Ideas, requests
Quotemetroid_maniacNope, some Modchips have "Brick Protection" I don't know how it works, but it manages to stop discs installing updates They control the drive to hide the update partition.by daniel_c_w - Getting Started
You might be able to go to 4.1J, but then you can't go back, for now .by daniel_c_w - Getting Started
We won't help you here to play your burned, and propably illegal copies. Read the forum rules and edit that part out, please. Since you got a "new" Wii, it is normal that you can't install BootMii as boot 2. You should be able to install any newer IOS you want, but cIOS and co. won't work, because you propably have the newest firmware. This forum is about homebrew applicatiby daniel_c_w - The Junkyard
And I guess that is without wear-leveling, right? So if you get more free space on the NAND, you can decrease the chance of failure.by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
Quotepaulo500Since it's a chipped wii, does he have to worry about the boot2 approach aswell? The mod chip might already have some sort of brick protection? Modchips only interact with the DVD-drive. They aren't able to do things, that mess up the boot process at boot 2. (unless there is some new kind of modchip out there that I don't know anything about)by daniel_c_w - Getting Started
QuotezipperdoyleThey charge a flat rate to fix the Wii at $92 (out of warranty) total for work and shipping. To clear the details: That was Nintendo Of America (Redwood), right? (p.s.: did you know, that The Big N is sourrounded by Microsoft buildings)by daniel_c_w - FixMii
QuoteArikadoYou'll all be seeing much less of me now. (But that is by no means a bad thing -- you'll eventually see more releases than comments I hope) Keep us updated. I might even have to bookmark your blog :Dby daniel_c_w - Offtopic
QuoteSifJar you'd need to get 128 characters, each with 256 possibilties which gives millions (probably) of possibilities for the final signature. Actually you are about 40 digits short :Dby daniel_c_w - Homebrew Applications
Modchips mess with the drive commands, and therefore with DVDX.by daniel_c_w - Homebrew Applications
QuoteArikadoFYI, .elf was the Wii format and .dol the Gamecube one. AFAIK .dol is the Gamecubes and Wii's native format. Every channel and game should be a .dol .Elfs came with the homebrew scene. p.s.: You're back - and you missed a day of forece forum inactivity :Dby daniel_c_w - Getting Started
I don't think it is needed. If somebody really annoys you ith his PMs, tell him to stop. If that doesn't work the mods might look into it.by daniel_c_w - Feedback & Support
Quotez400100500dayum...and isn't the system menu also ninty software? have quite a day with that. P.S would i be the king of an über off topic section? =p Ironicly, your statement was productive and on-topic.by daniel_c_w - Offtopic
QuoteChuckBartowskii guess your dumb. Whoops did i say that out loud? Unneccessary flaming! QuoteChuckBartowskiThey can do everyhting in theyre power to a warez tutorial. Yes, they dont own the software running the warez, but they do own the games that are being run. SifJar is right. But if a video shows no copyrighted material being run, there is nothing that can be done. I think Scanff isby daniel_c_w - Offtopic
Brawl+ is just Gecko OS. And yes, of course basic pathcing can be done. The question is: how can the patch come to the game. Maybe HVS prepared the conduit to be patched.by daniel_c_w - Ideas, requests

@elosnoc: He is talking about PAL-games. Those do not support progressive scan on their own.by daniel_c_w - Offtopic
I wouldn't strike through what you wrote Metroid, because it clarifies what SifJar wrote and meant. Somebody who is new to this might missundestand it, and from an end-user perspective, the channels are run from SD.by daniel_c_w - Homebrew General
Quotebg4545due to a copyright claim by Nintendo. Really? Did it really say Nintendo? Which Nintendo?by daniel_c_w - Offtopic
If by "they" you mean Nintendo, why don't you call them and let them try again to give you a working Wii?by daniel_c_w - Hardware
