you need a disc drive to run the games... Anything beyond that would be entering the backup/piracy realm, which i'm sure you noticed when you posted and clicked the checkboxes that that is illegal (in most cases) and, more importantly, not allowed here. Sorry.by mdbrim - The Junkyard
how do you have your folder set up? it should be: sd:/apps/homebrew_browser/boot.dol sd:/apps/homebrew_browser/icon.png sd:/apps/homebrew_browser/meta.xml there may be other things in there as well, but the boot.dol one is a MUST.by mdbrim - Getting Started
dude, read the dates of the last post before posting a reply... this topic is 5 months old.by mdbrim - FixMii
that might have something to do with it... i dunno. interesting that you edited your post... i'm not here to imply the reason why you are loading from that IOS.. just looking to solve a problem. Way i see it, it isn't wrong what you choose to do with what you own... we just can't help you will certain things... and since that has nothing to do with this post... i wouldn'tby mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
anyway you can update your loader (HBC) to a newer version? Most everyone i've talked to agrees taht system menu version /IOS shouldn't play a factor but maybe there's a chance the loader matters for reading memory etc. Out of curiosity, what IOS is your HBC loading from... should tell you if you hit the home button from the HBC. there maybe an issue there (i dunno, just tryinby mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
yeah i dunno... i've asked around to some other dev folks and have heard that system menu version shouldn't play a factor, but obviously something is going on. I would say update and see what happens but i aint gonna force you to do that when that shouldn't matter.... guess i need to find more folks with older system menus to see if they also have this issue.by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
woah, that's a first... yeah, those two circles should be blue buttons, with 3d dice mirroring what the table dice do. what system menu do you have? did you dl from webpage or hbb? anyway to take a picture / screen shot of it for me? i haven't come across this bug!by mdbrim - Homebrew Applications
Lol yeah Owen, there are a couple variations you randomly get if you run out of money... There is also one if the game detects any cheating or money hacking attempts! Those were fun to make. Yskysk: there is a dice results at the top of the screen... Are u saying u can't read that? U might need a nicer tv! ;). I did some testing on the smaller/ oldest tv I had and u could still read it. The point is that you are more than welcome to upgrade your wii using official nintendo updates to enjoy all the features without having to go thru all the hacker steps that some people don't want / know how to use. The HB chan will remain (if you have the latest version) and all will be fine. Making it safe to upgrade using Nintendo's official upgrades makes it EASIER and non techniby mdbrim - FixMii

edit: sarcasm removed... my bad! you have to put apps in your apps folder... then put the SD card in your wii, then load HBC. the HBC doesn't download apps... it launches them.by mdbrim - Getting Started
No, it would be more useful if you learned another language. Maybe a little less arrogance in feeling that everything should be tailored to you. It would be NICE if there was an English version... not "more useful" not off to a great start with your first post on the forums...by mdbrim - Coding
what would you like your kids to be able to do with the fixed up wii? I only ask because usually kids that want to play and mess around with homebrew are hacking the wii themselves. When a parent comes in to ask about hacking the wii, it's usually so the kids can play pirated nintendo games that they download from the internet. I think it's awesome that you are hackin the wii fby mdbrim - Getting Started
or make them. but, like dirtrider said, you can go here List of Apps and download away... or just go there and get the HomebrewBrowser and use IT to download em. The nice thing about the homebrew browser is you don't have to take sd card in and out of wii and computer... just leave it in wii and browse and dl from the wii.by mdbrim - Getting Started
doesn't it need a working laser to even show the game? How do you know that's the problem?by mdbrim - Getting Started
because we get the same ridiculous questions over and over again... "hey is the cable out?" "if it is, will my remote model still turn the TV on?" turn the TV on and find out! We're not mean.. just tired of itby mdbrim - Ideas, requests

Quoteapps(which is just a empty folder at the moment) The homebrew channel is just a facilitator. you need to put apps in the apps folder. Kezza, it doesn't replace your Wii OS. it's just an operating system you can run from the wii. It won't do your normal wii stuff. It's not like you are upgrading your Wii OS and replacing it with something else.by mdbrim - Wii Linux
