I think the problem is that you're using a 64-bit version, I don't think QEMU can reliably emulate a 64-bit processor. Personally, I would just use Linux on said virtual machine and from there, run NUSD on WINEby cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
QuoteinfinityI have the same problem i have created 3 different backups and all say the same thing it tells me that my dump is from a different Wii. I don't know what to do. i need to restore my wii now. please Help I have no idea what fixed mine, but all I can say is make your dump, let it verify, and then wait about 10 minutes, that's what I did and it workedby cactusjack901 - BootMii Beta

QuoteaujakevQuotecactusjack901I have another idea. How about we all work together and create a template that can fit on a sheet of iron-on transfer paper, so that way it's a free (as in open-source) shirt? I agree, this way we can get our own t-shirts with out using a credit cards and such, also we could put our user names underneath. I don't think of it anything like that. Quotemdbrimas some one who uses google ads on my website... google randomly puts ads up there that match keywords. We don't have control on what ads show up here... but it is funny that most of the ads are for taboo topics! thank you, I was just about to post thisby cactusjack901 - Getting Started

QuoteTopGun96Well according to the requirements... I need a 32-Bit or a 64-Bit processor. But i am on PPC architecture. Will it still work with Qemu? yeah, you're fine. x86 Processors are 32 Bit, x86-64 Processors are 64 bit, G4 PPC processors are 32 bit, and G5 PPC processors are 64-bit (iirc, the G5 processor was one of the first true 64-bit processors) Basically, if you have aby cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
sounds right but A) IOS60Patched.wad is illegal, and cIOSCORP in and of itself can be considered illegal and what it does is not supported hereby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
You have a lot more to uninstall than just the homebrew channel, even so, if you intend to use that which he had on there, we cannot help you hereby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
QuoteHman360I'm not a coder, but okay... What you're saying is that you can't even access the Wiimotes from homebrew code? No, because... well.. we kinda do that on a regular basis. What he's saying is that MINI, the subsystem that Bootmii runs off of can't access the wiimote at the current time. QuoteTopGun96But in order to emulate windows you have to own a windows OS disc... True enough, I actually got one for free... and legally, my friend didn't want it so he gave it to me. It's an XP SP1 upgrade disc, so I have to use an older version of Windows (like the Windows 98 CD that I have for absolutely no reason. Seriously, I was a mac user before Win98 hit).by cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
agreed, I just bought the component cable for like $8 off Meritline, works just fineby cactusjack901 - Hardware
QuoteTopGun96That's what I meant. But I don't want to go buy a piece of dumb software so that I can run one (or even a few) applications on my computer. Honestly I think windows is a piece of junk. well, let's be honest, you wouldn't have to buy any software, you could just use an open-source VM program like Q (or, since you're on a mac, Qemu). QuoteTopGun96I think it could be done because bootmii currently tells itself not to make a copy of boot2. So your idea is a good one. As much as it is a good idea, it equally isn't. The boot2 resides on a different spot than the rest of the NAND FS. The big problem with my idea is that bootmii has to adapt to the situation. Since it is on the main partition of the NAND FS, it won'tby cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
QuoteTopGun96Yeah but isn't the hackmii installer copyrighted? Therefore you couldn't release it because it is twiizers code/exploit Well naturally, I'm just speaking on a theoretical level (I do that a lot)by cactusjack901 - Offtopic
QuotehuntermYou could possiably get a small version of X ported to Wii, make a custom made version of Firefox, or some other Linux web browser, and just edit the net and wifi workings. Ahh, but with X comes a WM, and then we'd have to port a WM as well, but before that we'd have to decide on a WM to port. modding the NAND doesn't mean replacing files, it could simply mean adding files.by cactusjack901 - Homebrew Applications
QuoteTopGun96But the problem is... Do either of those reside in boot1 This tends to be the problem. I would say Twiizers has an exploit that could work if they dig into it further, and comex's isn't an exploit that can write to the nand or fakesign, just run code (probably the exploit used in the Super Stack Smash Bros. video). My reasoning for this? Twiizers still installs the HBCby cactusjack901 - Offtopic
My idea, would be if BootMii took note of the blocks it is stored in, and flags them so that it knows not to overwrite those blocks when doing a restore. It works in theory, but hey, I'm not a coder so I can't say how easily that could be done, if it could be done at all.by cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests
QuoteSifJarI think he means finding the key reqired to sign BootMii boot2 to allow installation on those Wiis with a fixed boot1. But this is illegal, because it is using Nintendo's signature. Its like forging a signature in real life, on a cheque or statement or something. That's why there must be an exploit, like the trucha bug, in boot1 for it to be legally done. Yeah, I guess I diby cactusjack901 - Offtopic
As nice as it would be to also have Bootmii where Preloader resides, the problem is that if you do a NAND restore with it anywhere but boot2, it would have to overwrite itself, which...well... logic tells us that just wouldn't workby cactusjack901 - Ideas, requests

I have no idea, but I'm about to try the BootMii/boot2 without an installed HBC, lemme just go get my bare-bones homebrew NAND dump ready EDIT: Yep, independent of each other, only downside is if you select the homebrew channel, you'll lock your wii up with a black screen. just a quick question about the boot2 signature. Shouldn't it be possible with a dump of boot0, boot1, and boot2, along with the OTP mem, to find the keys? or are they one of the things that's encrypted using an RSA algorithm?by cactusjack901 - Offtopic

QuoteTopGun96They didn't even give you a fixed boot1? If not that is great news. well, the fact that my serial number begins with LU34 and I run Bootmii as boot2 makes me believe they didn't =D EDIT: And even better, I'm not 100% sure, but I don't even think it's the same console I had (although I could be mistaken, I don't remember my old serial number, but wheby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
