I do not know. Your Wii may be american, but a Japanese update might have been installed instead. There may be a region free modchip in the console too. Either way, you need to open AnyRegionChanger and find out the Console Area Setting and Game Region Setting.by metroid_maniac - FixMii
You can use DOP-Mii to install the latest version of the correct System menu. Find out what the Wii was originally by using AnyRegionChanger, first, it will tell you what version you should install.by metroid_maniac - FixMii
You can avoid the update by using Gecko OS or Priiloader. Chances are, it is unnecessary.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
QuoteSifJarDon't bother with what metroid_maniac said (or at least, not yet), it probably wouldn't help in the slightest. Thank you, should have thought of that.by metroid_maniac - FixMii
Then you can use Bannerbomb v1 and the Hackmii installer or Bootmii and the MINI version of the Hackmii Installer to reinstall the Homebrew Channel. Then, you can run and give us a report to help fix the problem.by metroid_maniac - FixMii
You will need to use DOP-Mii to patch bugs into IOS36 or use Bushing's AnyTitleDeleter mod, I believe.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
What version of the Wii software are you on at the moment? Do you have Bootmii/Boot2 installed? If you remove the SD card and the DVD drive flashes when you start up the Wii, you do.by metroid_maniac - FixMii
Are you using Bushing's AHBPROT AnyTitleDeleter?by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
It is OK to have other files on the SD Card. However, if there is a folder named "private" on the SD card, it will have to be renamed "privateold" as you perform the hack. When it is done you can delete the "private" folder and rename "privateold back" If you are on 4.1 or below, you go to Wii Settings. If you are on 4.2, you click the SD card icon. The apps you install will only be on the SD Cby metroid_maniac - Getting Started
As long as your Homebrew Channel is on the latest version, there is nothing to worry about when updating.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
I think that the discs are printed, meaning they are made with the code on them, rather than burnt from a DVD-R. I think that allows them to create something unique that cannot be replicated by a normal DVD burner. However other companies like Datel could, as demonstrated by its freeloader while the trucha bug was in place.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
Then you might be mistyping it, it may be an invalid MAC address...by metroid_maniac - Getting Started
QuotekiskeyaFor some reason it is not accepting my new Wii's MAC address.. What is not accepting it? Does it not show up in your Wii message board? You may have to check up to 2 days ago to find it.by metroid_maniac - Getting Started
Oh, sorry, I misread. You should be able to restore with Bootmii/IOS, fairly safely but slightly less so than with Boot2by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
You cannot restore a NAND backup on one Wii to another, from Bootmii/Boot2 or Bootmii/IOS. The decryption/encryption keys are different.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew General
You cannot copy it to the internal memory. All the homebrew channel is meant to do is check the SD card or USB hardware for homebrew and run it. It might be a better idea to just download them manually and then place them on the SD card yourself.by metroid_maniac - Getting Started
We dont support ISO loaders here. PS2 emulation doesnt work, it is too new a console for the Wii to emulate. The Wii is barely a step up from the Gamecube in terms of power.by metroid_maniac - Getting Started
Homebrew Browser makes it easy to download new applications, emulators like FCEUltra GX might be fun and Gecko OS can be used to play games with cheats. Explore a little here.by metroid_maniac - Getting Started
Then you can go to the Wii Message Board (bottom right of the main Wii menu) and find the exploit. Install everything you can, then find some homebrew applications to place on your SD Card.by metroid_maniac - Getting Started
You should use Letterbomb to install the Homebrew Channel. You can find your Wiis MAC Address in the Internet Settings. It will generate a folder named "private" which you should copy to the root of your SD Card. Then, you will find the exploit in the Wii Message Board.by metroid_maniac - Getting Started

Try just one or two codes, just as a test.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew Applications
Yes. The system detects new content on the disc (stub IOSs) and installs them. I fail to see why this is confusing. Why did you delete stub IOSs?by metroid_maniac - Getting Started

When is it giving the error?by metroid_maniac - Homebrew Applications
Just change the settings, save them, and try to find something that works. Play with as many combinations as you can. It won't damage the Wii or the game.by metroid_maniac - Homebrew Applications
