QuoteSifJarI believe the upcoming app WiiMC (successor to MPlayer CE) will be able to do what you want, but its not out yet, and no word of when it will be released. There's some info about it at Hey, I haven't heard about it. It looks sort of like a Wii port of XBMC (I said LOOKS). Seriously though, WiiXBMC would ROCK SO F'ING HARDby cactusjack901 - Getting Started

I said it before, and I'll say it again. I see NO use for the iPad for a power user, but a definite use for a regular person. However, I will hold final judgement until I use one in personby cactusjack901 - Offtopic
Beyond that, You did NOT use IOS 249 to install the Homebrew Channel, nor can the Homebrew Channel be installed as boot2. I suggest you go through the Wiibrew Wiki and read all you can before you go any further.by cactusjack901 - Getting Started
You could also, in theory build one. Which I may do soon, as I really want a USB Gecko, but can't find one either =(by cactusjack901 - Offtopic
Quotemaaz55but that is ntsc and wifi required, thanks anyway, can u tell me how to make the both wiis the same boot1 thanks in advanced There is a PAL version, just ask the dev. As far as wifi required, well, I can't help you there.by cactusjack901 - FixMii

This topic, it interests me. may be wrong though, but the Wii may use 2056-bit RSAby cactusjack901 - Offtopic
Exactly, personally, I support USB Loaders, however, they have the issue of being able to be used for piracy =(by cactusjack901 - The Junkyard

No, they're not ok for Betwiin. For Betwiin you need the exact same boot1 and boot2 versions on both NAND dumpsby cactusjack901 - FixMii

QuoteWikiFSXI can't see how this would require an SDK rewrite. All of this can be done with existing system calls. I also can't see how this would hurt WiiWare in any way. Granted, it would make the Wii somewhat slower, and Nintendo would botch it somehow. Yeah, I was really talking out of my ass in a sleep deprived state. I currently have no idea what I was going on about =pby cactusjack901 - Offtopic
QuoteWaxyPumpkin72Fixed. ;) Thank you =pby cactusjack901 - Getting Started
I don't think they would do that, because I honestly don't see a simple way of implementing such checks. However, I could be wrong. Such checks would also require large parts of their SDK to be rewritten, as I see it. Thus hurting WiiWare, which would cause financial issues for Nintendo. I am just talking out of my ass here, and could be totally wrong.by cactusjack901 - Offtopic
QuoteAceMilo If you could send me another iso to try I'd appreciate it. Do you not see the BIG RED LETTERS all over the place telling you that piracy isn't supported here?by cactusjack901 - FixMii
Only use information found on Wiibrew. System Menu 3.6 doesn't exist. Use Priiloader on an unmodified IOS like IOS36 (although you may have modded that, you can use DOP-Mii to undo that)by cactusjack901 - Getting Started
Yeah, I'm actually having the same issue. I think the program needs to be updated for newer versions of IOS, and nobody has done so yet =(by cactusjack901 - Offtopic
I couldn't edit my post, due to the forum being moderated, so if a Mod could merge these two posts, it'd be a huge help. You should also update your homebrew channel to 1.0.6 before updating to 4.2by cactusjack901 - BootMii Beta
QuotelorddunlowThanks to all for the speedy and helpful answers. gameboy13: how does updating boot2 first help? This is one thing I don't understand about BootMii. I thought that BootMii replaces boot2. Apparently this is not how it works. It is how it works. Thing is, Nintendo updated everybody's boot2 to boot2v4 with the 4.2 update. If you had an earlier version of Boot2 befby cactusjack901 - BootMii Beta
don't worry about Nintendo's Update Just update to 4.2, then install Bootmii. The only possible way Nintendo can prevent you from installing Bootmii on your Wii, if you have a vulnerable Boot1, is to send someone to your house with a sledgehammer, smash your Wii, and give you a Wii with a fixed Boot1. However, you can install Bootmii now, make a backup, keep it (and all relevantby cactusjack901 - BootMii Beta
Sneek has a complicated story, that ends in "no longer supported here due to the inclusion of a USB Loader" sorry =(by cactusjack901 - The Junkyard
MIOS wouldn't have to be modified. The Wii can already make use of the SD Gecko and Gamecube Memory Cards. For example, accesses the gamecube memory card and iirc, originally, when the Twilight Hack was first released, an SD Gecko (may have been a USB Gecko though) was required to launch Homebrewby cactusjack901 - Software
QuoteMuzerAlso, IIRC you don't need a triwing to remove the battery, it is a slot with an ordinary screw at the bottom of the Wii. I might be wrong though... You're not. It's meant to be user replaceable in case it dies. If memory serves, it's a CR2032 Cell Batteryby cactusjack901 - Hardware
