Wow, I've been away for two days and I'm being attacked. Lucky the post was deleted before I read it, or I'd have been hounding you night and day with waves of indignation, Waxy ;) Thanks to the people who had faith in me. Incidentally, it should be pointed out that the emulated system's complexity affects things as well. For example, the Sega Saturn has some frighteniby alainvey - Offtopic

Yes, it's absolutely rocking. Also, the mcd files are memory card files created by the emulator - they store save data.by alainvey - Getting Started
QuoteSifJarThis would be pretty cool I agree. It's at times like this I wish I knew how to program. I am trying to learn C++, but I doubt I'll be porting a flash player to the Wii anytime soon ;). I wrote a program which displayed an image and played some music. It even had a wiimote cursor. If we team up on this, we'll be unstoppable: the next Team Twiizers.by alainvey - Ideas, requests
Different IOSes run at different times for different applications - this is normal and is the way the Wii works. For example, the newest system menu runs on IOS60, while Zelda runs on IOS9. Many IOS versions are installed on your Wii. Regarding the cIOS you're talking about, read this handy guide.by alainvey - The Junkyard
Why would you do that? Anyway, the PSX emulator is an emulator for the Playstation, and is designed to play Playstation images. Since it's at an early stage of development, not everything about its user interface has been completed. You tried to load a file which the emulator was not expecting, which caused it to crash. Quoteslyfox299 +32mb Internal Ram +400mhz CPU +8/16/32mb Graphics CPU(I don't remember exactly which, but I am aiming at 32mb...) These specs are similar to the GC. There's no way in hell the Wii could run a GC emulator at decent speeds (GC mode does not count, it's not emulation). Just because a system is more powerful than another does not mean it can emulate that system.by alainvey - Offtopic
Dreamcast uses GD-ROM discs. These are strange 1GB discs. I don't think that the DC can read DVDs, but it will take CDs. Interestingly, it will also run burned CD games (edited to shrink them to CD-size) without modification. Does that count as a violation? I wouldn't exactly describe that as "supporting backups", but feel free to delete my post. I will, for my part, post the obby alainvey - Offtopic
When restoring, BootMii compares the existing NAND with the backup, and changes all blocks which differ. So yes, since the playstats will be different on your new machine, it will restore them. It restores everything. It's like time travel. You will possibly lose the right to redownload any VC/WiiWare purchased in the meantime, but since you're going to restore when it comes backby alainvey - BootMii Beta
It might work with DosBox. Give it a try right now! No Wiimote, though.by alainvey - Ideas, requests

The cursor is a 2x2 square, which is defined at the coordinates ir.x, (ir.x+1), ir.y, and (ir.y+1). The increment is used to define the other end of the line. i.e. draw horizontal line from ir.x to ir.x+1, then draw vertical line from ir.y to ir.y +1.by alainvey - Coding
If this is a VBA GX issue, change the stretch/scaling options in the video settings until you find something preferable.by alainvey - Getting Started
I'd post this at the googlecode page if I were you. Find the link on the wiki page for the emulator, and add an issue to the issues section. This is probably already flagged to some degree. The video problems are something I've noticed, but I think the USB issues might be user error.by alainvey - Homebrew Applications
Snes9x has excellent compatibility also, so pretty much every game will run at full speed. The only game where I have noticed any issues is with Seiken Densetsu 3, which suffers from occasional sprite glitches and a bit of slowdown. Even this is absolutely minimal.by alainvey - Homebrew Applications

Arikado, I'm going to have to swallow my pride and publicly admit ignorance: What in effing crikey is ios catz ?by alainvey - Offtopic
Technically, since it's an acronym, one is pluralising the word "system". Therefore, the plural of IOS would be IOS ("Input-Output Systems"). Since this is not useful, we tend to treat the acronym as a word in itself, and in the case of IOS it is more natural to pronounce it phonetically (that is, Eye-Oss, rather than Eye Oh Ess). Given this, one should pluralise it as one would a similarby alainvey - Offtopic
This kind of thing does happen occasionally with the emus. Try always saving and exiting the emulator before switching off, as it may be to do with the SD not being unmounted correctly. This happened to me, and I've seen it happen to others - the above solution is the best I can offer.by alainvey - Homebrew Applications

Icefire says that there was a file bundled with the package (supplied by Waninkoko, I think) which contained copyrighted bannercode - noes! Also, the wiki lists some other infringements which are more ad hominem than the above.by alainvey - Offtopic
Does it work with Snes9x 1.51 for PC? If not, then you'll have to ask the official developers. If it does, then raise an issue on the googlecode page for Snes9x GX - there's a link on the Snes9x GX wiki page.by alainvey - Homebrew Applications
Also, the pointer doesn't get "stuck" - what is happening is that once you move the pointer offscreen new ir coordinates are no longer fed into the ir variables (simply because they are no longer changing). Thus, the pointer image keeps getting drawn in the same place, the point where you went off the screen. If you compare this with the behaviour of the cursor of the System Menu'by alainvey - Coding
Try adding a check for MP3Player_IsPlaying before stopping playback. This is a guess, of course, but I had a similar problem: I've found that if you ask MP3Player to stop when it is not playing, then the program will hang. That, or some other unknown thing fixed my bug.by alainvey - Coding
I was just being overzealous with my includes, perhaps. Whatever had an unknown purpose I left in. Speaking of Tantric, check out his libwiigui library. You can probably just hack a media player together from the template program, but if you'd find that unsatisfying then it still includes some decent media libraries.by alainvey - Coding
