Wonderful news. I've attempted to install BootMii, and the installer seems to have hung after installing it. After "Success", I click continue, but no response. If I reboot my Wii, am I looking at a brick?by alainvey - BootMii Beta
I think it varies, to be honest. My TV can't seem to deal with NTSC games in any mode, though it does support 60Hz.by alainvey - Offtopic
Force NTSC. My mother recently acquired Tree of Tranquility and is playing it with Gecko OS.by alainvey - Offtopic

A first-party pass-through unit which connects to the remote; its function is to enhance the motion-tracking accuracy of the remote. Release is meant to be sometime this year, I think.by alainvey - Offtopic
It may need to be converted from .ELF to .DOL format. I believe that there is a utility to do this on the wiki, called "Elf to Dol converter".by alainvey - Getting Started
QuoteArikadoQuotealainveyIs your app "Hello World"? The scene is missing such an app. Of course, launching such a thing would require exploits which use functionality far beyond itself... Rofl. You do know that devkitPRO comes with a helloworld app that only needs to be compiled to run properly right? I had the same thought earlier today. Don't know if anything can be done. Why do I drink when I hate it?by alainvey - Offtopic
Tut tut... Backups are not supported on this forum. I don't think you are alone in your situation, however. As regards playing the game legitimately, if you update then your problem will most likely be solved. My guess is that the IOS patch which you have installed in order to run the "backup channel" has disabled the functionality of the Rock Band peripherals. The update would replacby alainvey - The Junkyard
QuoteArikadoWatch the talk in this topic though... For my part, I'm trying to be helpful without violating the rules. Basically, Flashcards built for the DS won't work on the DSi, but you can take a look at almost any website related to videogames other than this one to find limitless adverts and discussions for a DSi-specific one.by alainvey - Offtopic
QuotearikadoHmmmm. Well, wild guessing here: AFAIK, Tehskeen have some modchip-sellers sponsors, and softmods clearly compete with hardmods... Maybe - just maybe - this is more about money than about lawsuits. Sounds like the right answer to me.by alainvey - Offtopic
A Flashcart specifically for the DSi will perform this function.by alainvey - Offtopic
There's a recent front-page news item from TehSkeen which some might find interesting. Sounds like someone got visited by the Big N... That or Waninkoko found God.by alainvey - Offtopic
I think both the DS and DSi have the same architecture, so the latter would run DS roms in the same way as the former. DS-Scene is a good place to look for DS homebrew apps and games. This topic might end up in the junkyard, though - this isn't the place for discussing roms of commercially-viable games.by alainvey - Offtopic
QuoteArikadoQuotealainveyIt's all gone rather quiet. People, like Arikado, who frequent the relevant IRC channels seem to talk about it as though it still exists, however. It does exist. I cant you give a real status update though, sorry. I had gleaned exactly that. I'm on 3.4, so my interest in the exploit is purely academic and not urgent. In regard to Wii64, however, I have inby alainvey - Getting Started
Sorry to ask this on the Wiibrew forums, but: Does anyone know where to obtain the track playing on TheRealTracePillars' Bannerbomb video (the one which kicked all of this off)? If not, then does anyone at least know the name of the track (the poster said that it's from Kirby 64)? Thanks in advance.by alainvey - Offtopic
Are you sure it should be in ISO format? As far as I know, DVD loading just works like loading from any other storage medium.by alainvey - Homebrew Applications

There will be a way (possibly with the application Gecko OS or similar), but it will be a bit more complicated than just using ocarina in the HBC. Wait till it's out, then ask again. Edit: Actually, given the way it works, I think you might just be able to run ocarina with Comex's exploit and have it reboot with cheats in place. Basically, yes.by alainvey - Getting Started
You didn't pay attention! Those WADs should be appearing in the left box. Move the wads in SD/prboom/pwads/ to SD/prboom/ and try again. However, I haven't tried what you seem to have done, so it might just work as is if you try waving the remote at the screen (the cursor is a tiny blue dot) and, indeed, click on a wad. I have a feeling that you will need to move the wads into thby alainvey - Homebrew Applications
Comex's exploit is expected to be able to launch programs on a "Virgin 4.0 Wii". BootMii is a loading utility which loads almost as soon as the Wii is switched on: an entirely separate endeavour which will not help you out with your new Wii. It will have reduced functionality on more recent Wiis, as well, for technical reasons which I suggest you read up on either on the wiki or hackmii.by alainvey - Getting Started
I was deliberately vague because I' not entirely sure. I believe that pwads are data packs used for expansion packs; perhaps mods in general. The core data of the game is supplied by the main wad, such as, like you say, prboom.wad and doom1.wad. According to the instructions, prboom.wad and another wad (e.g Doom1.wad) must be in the prboom folder on the root of the SD. By the way,by alainvey - Homebrew Applications
