Is HBC still on your Wii? If it is, all you need to do is replace the SD card and put the apps back on there.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
I have a few questions about Tantric's emulators SNES9XGX, FCE Ultra GX, and Visual Boy Advance GX. I noticed, in the download page, for an option of a channel installer for each. 1. Are they generally safe? If it matters, I'm on 4.3U, and my Wii is an "LU71" model. 2. Is there any benefit, other than convenience to run them through the channel than the Homebrew Channel? 3. Is theby Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
You don't need a modchip to install Homebrew. What you will need: 2GB (Not SDHC or anything higher than that) SD card and either: -Super Smash Bros Brawl -LEGO Indiana Jones 1 -Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds Wheelie Breakers Follow this guideby Mestizo - Homebrew General
Since you opened the Wii, your warranty is void. Also, since you opened the Wii, Nintendo will think you did something that disabled disks to be read. Sadly, I believe your only option is to get a new Wii.by Mestizo - Getting Started
If you update via game, you will lose Homebrew Channel. However, if you run the new Hackmii Installer, you can get Homebrew Channel 1.0.8. 4.3 will not delete it so, update Homebrew Channel first, then update your Wii. You can do both when you connect to the internet on the Wii.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
Bannerbomb will no longer work with 4.3. You need to use Smash Stack, Indiana Pwns, or Yu-Gi-Vah to install it.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
Yes. Make the NAND, then transfer it to your computer. Just make sure that it doesn't get deleted, because NANDs are bound to each individual Wii. So, if you lose it, and can't make a duplicate, you're screwed if your Wii bricks,by Mestizo - Getting Started
Still, unless you depend on something not supported here, there's no reason to not update, as far as I know.by Mestizo - Getting Started
By "hardmodding", are you talking about something like adding a modchip? Modchips are not supported here. If you used Twilight Hack, Bannerbomb, or any other exploit, that's called "softmodding". You don't need to work with the Wii's innards to install Homebrew Channel, and I hope you didn't pay someone to do it for you. Well, assuming you didn't actually hardmod it, aby Mestizo - Getting Started
Are you sure USB headsets can be registered by Wii games? What game are you using? If it's Animal Crossing or Monster Hunter Tri, you need the Wii Speak.by Mestizo - Getting Started
If you still need to do Homebrew, I would first start off by doing virus scans, just in case. Afterwards, you'll need the following: A 2 GB SD card (Not SDHC) SD card reader and either: -Super Smash Bros Brawl - LEGO Indiana Jones -Yu-Gi-Oh! 5Ds Wheelie Breakers Follow this guide:by Mestizo - Getting Started
If you have Homebrew Channel version 1.0.8, all current updates for the Wii should have no ill effects. If you do use WiiConnect24, though, make sure standby is turned off, as this could lead to the wireless card inside the Wii messing up the graphics eventually.by Mestizo - Getting Started
I am getting a DSi XL for Christmas. Thing is, money's kinda tight until the following month, and I may need to use my 4GB SDHC SD card I use for Wii homebrew to house DS data temporarily until I get another card for it. Will the DSi recognize the homebrew?by Mestizo - Homebrew General
I know WiiBrew's site was down for a few days. It was probably a server failure. Try again.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
And you couldn't do another update, or a system format?by Mestizo - Getting Started
I don't have the patience (or the meditative environment) to accomplish the 100 Super Jump challenge in Super Mario RPG and was planning on using codes to make the game think I already did it. Highest I got normally was 37. I know it has to be named ".cht", but can someone give me a sample of the format for the cheats? I tried the cheats provided by GBAtemp, but, in the emulator, the cheatsby Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
We are not to talk about anything related to backups or cIOSs. Most likely, the IOS patches you made will be updated and reversed with the update.by Mestizo - Getting Started
You can check the emulator's website. Though, the beta's been in this stage for a while. They're also working on a Playstation emulator. Currently, the only workaround is to either use a PC's N64 emulator, buy the VC version from Nintendo, or actually get a N64 with the games in question.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
It is a problem with the emulator itself, as the emulation's in it's beta form. Only workaround is to just buy Paper Mario from the Wii Shop Channel.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
First, is your Wii's model number start with an LU64 or a number less than 64? If it's higher, there's nothing you can do. If it's less, use Dop-Mii to downgrade IOS36 using IOS58 + AHPROT to the earliest revision of IOS36. Doing this on later Wiis will result in Gecko OS crashing.by Mestizo - Getting Started
Do you have internet enabled on your Wii?by Mestizo - Getting Started
If you updated before Sept. 7th, then you'll need to update again. If it was Sept. 9th or later that you last updated, you don't need to do another update. The Sept. 7th update was just an update for anti-DVD piracy measures (does not attack the Homebrew Channel or anything supported through WiiBrew), so HBC should be safe if you're on version 1.0.7+by Mestizo - Getting Started
If you have Homebrew Channel 1.0.7+, a system update won't hurt it in any way (unless you made a hardware mod, like a modchip). Just do a normal system update.by Mestizo - Homebrew General
Update IOS36 with DOP-Mii. If you're on 4.3 and your Wii's serial's first 4 digits are "LU64" or any number higher than 64, then your Wii cannot handle a downgraded IOS36.by Mestizo - Homebrew Applications
As I said before, there's no logical reason to downgrade unless you're willing to have a $200 rectangular paperweight. If he's just interested in homebrew, the current exploits are all he needs. He should NOT EVER downgrade. If he does, it has a REALLY high chance of doing something to the Wii's programming, rendering it completely useless. Best brick-protection if he REALLY wby Mestizo - Homebrew General
Not really sure. My Wii wasn't able to install BootMii into that, so I didn't really do any brick protection. If all he wants to do is play emulators, there should be no harm to the system. The only way it would brick is if he ran some unofficial/malicious homebrew, or if he turned off the Wii running an update from a disk. For now, all current retail games on the Wii does no harm to HBby Mestizo - Homebrew General
You can still play the emulators if you installed the latest Homebrew Channel. You must be referring to 4.3 refusing to load "HAXX" title ids. The latest Hackmii installer found a way past that. The only way to get Homebrew Channel now is through Bannerbomb on 4.2 or lower, Indiana Pwns (which he does have now), Smash Stack, or Yu-Gi-OWNED. As long as he can run it from the Homebrew channel itselby Mestizo - Homebrew General
No. If he has 4.3, then he should have IOS58 (Just to be safe, do a system update beforehand). Run the Hackmii installer, and that should enable Homebrew Channel to load from IOS58 + AHPROT. That's the current exploit it's running on now. In short, all you need for this is: Lego Indiana Jones/Super Smash Bros Brawl/Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds 1-2 GB SD card (Not SDHC) the latest Hackmii instalby Mestizo - Homebrew General
I believe (though I haven't done it) the best way to do this is to use the Indiana Pwns method to run DOP-Mii and use that to downgrade to 4.1. Although, downgrading is the most dangerous thing you can do to your Wii. Besides, if you use the latest Hackmii installer, there's no need to downgrade if he just wants the Homebrew Channel (HBC 1.0.7+ is compatible with 4.3 with no other problby Mestizo - Homebrew General
Ok. I already upgraded IOS36 back to the latest revision and will now delete DOP-Mii. Thanks anyway.by Mestizo - Getting Started
