This question may sound really stupid but I can't find a definite answer. Is there anything that can be installed on the Wii, so that if it crashes ever it can easily be fixed. When I say easily, I mean doing it myself and not having to send it in to Nintendo if possible.by musicalmatt - Getting Started

But in order to download via the Homebrew browser, you have to have an internet connection to the wii. I dont think you said if you had one for sure, but if you don't you will have to download them and put the apps on the SD card via computerby musicalmatt - Getting Started

Hopefully :) I just re-read the question. I'd have to agree with TopGun96, why would you want to stay connected without internet. I don't believe there are any hacks you can do via a wireless router. But to answer his original question "Is there a way to make it stay connected to the wireless without an internet connection??", i believe the answer is no.by musicalmatt - Getting Started

It might mean that its failing to connect to the server. Try going through the main wii menu and doing a connection test. If that works and your still having problems, say so :)by musicalmatt - Homebrew General

I kind of have the same problem. For me it's a router problem. It connects and then it fails. The error messege on the screen usually says somthing along the lines of "Connected to the acces point but failed to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi". I dont know what else to say, but you could try resetting the router to see if that works :)by musicalmatt - Getting Started

I dont know about the setting menu, but the shop channel (somebody correct me if I'm wrong) the channel connects to a server. In order to download the stuff you need the points which you have to buy. Im guessing that because Nintendo wants you to pay for the downloads, they had the Opera company do it for them. Again, I dont know this for a fact so someone correct me if I'm wrong.by musicalmatt - Ideas, requests

Does anyone know why Nintendo finally set the internet channel free again? also I just downloaded the free opera browser now and i think it's pretty good. yea it is kind of slow, but it can get the job done. if a homebrew internet browser is made, im just curious what kind of advantages it would have over the opera one now.by musicalmatt - Ideas, requests

How do you get updates without screwing up the wii. Somebody was talking about Gecko, but i'm not entirely sure of how that works. I have Gecko and I hear people talking about how much stuff you can do with it, but can you update via Gecko without losing homebrew?by musicalmatt - Homebrew General

I'm sorry if I'm not understanding everything here, but do you have Wi-Fi or the Wii directly connected to the internet to download the apps? If you are putting apps on your sd card, are they in the folder marked apps?by musicalmatt - Getting Started

I just went through some of the coding for the channel trying to find a website that the wii downloads the youtube videos from. I don't know if there's a way to change where it downloads, but when I went to the website on PC, it was just a directory with links to .mp4 downloads. The Gamecube one is called "GCBooter", I deleted the wii disc one when I found out it didn't work. I don't remember where I got this one, but it says Boot GC discs via Homebrew Channel. I've downloaded the GC boot and Wii boot channel (whatever you call them) to play discs via the HBC. When I try to load a disc through either of them, the game starts to load and stops, or doesn't load at all. Is there anyway to make games work?by musicalmatt - Homebrew Applications

Well I was wondering, if it's possible to easily connect to youtube and watch videos via the mplayer, how much harder would it be to make a browser that can navigate the web. I have the WiiSX emulator and I have PS1 ROMS for it. When I try to load them, it doesn't work. The ROMS i have for it are RAR files. Do they have to a different file type in order for them to work? When I try to load them, the emulator will pick them out for me and ask me if I want to load them. It writes a few things on the screen and stops. Any tips?by musicalmatt - Homebrew Applications
