You should certainly upgrade to the latest version of th Homebrew Channel. After running the HackMii installer, please post your log file here so we can see if anything needs to be fixed for stable operation. Do this weather the installer runs correctly or not. Also, please tell us what sytem menu your Wii is running on. I think the first black Wii's may have had 4.2 on them.by winmaster - Homebrew General

First of all, this is in the wrong sub forum. Are you holding the Wii Remote upside down? (Had to ask...) Are you using a Nintendo Wii Remote, or a generic brand. If you are using a generic brand, it may not work properly in homebrew, and cause problems such as the one you are seeing.by winmaster - FixMii

I happen to be having a similar issue. Unlike the original poster, however, my USB HDD (actually, its a laptop drive enclosure) does not work in any app that I have tried it in (WiiMC and VBAGX). I have acquired a copy of the HackMii Installer 0.6 (found it right away on google) and can confirm that it also does not work in that version of the Homebrew Channel. No, BootMii is what performs the backup, so running it without installing it is impossible. Also, installing BootMii and the Homebrew channel will not affect any other part of the Wii.by winmaster - Getting Started

Downgrading your System Menu is dangerous because stub IOSes can cause bricks if they are not taken care of properly. For instance, System Menu 4.3 stubs IOS 70, which System Menu 4.2 uses. If you don't know what you are doing and you downgrade to System Menu 4.2 with a stub IOS 70, then your Wii will brick. Fortunately for you, Pimp My Wii did not stub IOS 70 like the normal system updateby winmaster - FixMii

Additionally, Priiloader can be installed on an old version of vanilla IOS 36 and once installed, does not need a patched IOS.by winmaster - Feedback & Support

I agree that it is strange that this just happened, however, based on how you described the situation, SaveMiiFrii should work. Hopefully, when an updated system menu comes out, you can just make it fix itself. Unfortunately, it will probably be a while before a usable disc comes out.by winmaster - FixMii

Download the latest version of Dop-Mii from Wiibrew.org. Use it to install the latest versions of all IOSes EXCEPT IOS 50, 60, 70, and 80. Instead of installing the latest version of IOS 50, install revision 4889. If you are using the version of Dop-Mii that is not available on Wiibrew.org, then do not apply any patches to any IOSes. Then remove IOSes 60, 70, and 80. You may also remove any IOS tby winmaster - Homebrew Applications

Generally, you can post log files containing CIOSes here. We just can't discuss how to obtain CIOSes, pirate games, ect. Just an FYI. Did you patch any official IOSes or your system menu?by winmaster - FixMii
