QuoteAobxWhen people advise against using Comex's Nand Formatter if you don't have Bootmii/boot2, it's because of the risk or because it won't work in Bootmii/IOS? Shouldn't all MINI applications be able to run through Bootmii, so Bootmii/IOS would work as well? It works as well, however, it's dangerous since your Wii could brick completely if there is a power outaby Matoking - Homebrew General
HBC doesn't damage your Wii to the point of being unable to update, you must have done something else.by Matoking - Homebrew General
Bootmii/boot2 CAN be uninstalled, there just isn't point in doing it after it has been installed.by Matoking - Getting Started
You can avoid it by using apps from Wiibrew and when using apps that modify NAND, be sure to know what you are doing.by Matoking - Getting Started
Try re-installing IOS36 using DOP-IOS Mod, first time around try installing it with a trucha bug. Priiloader only needs trucha bug to work, try using that one. It's also more up-dated then Preloader .30by Matoking - Homebrew General
What "softmods" did you use?by Matoking - BootMii Beta
QuoteFTALIFER I was also told I may need a USB loader to use the external hard drive. Whoever said that knows nothing about homebrew, just saying.by Matoking - Getting Started
If you are really paranoid about the boot2 update I would suggest installing Priiloader and use the "Skip disc update check" hack to skip the update.by Matoking - Homebrew General
Totally not surprising. You just used an application that was full of fail. And why it's fail, it modifies the System Menu in a ridiculous way and is by 99% chance illegal too. Your only chance is to buy a new Wii or use Infectus to install BootMii/boot2 if you can. When/if you get the new Wii, the first thing you should do is install BootMii and/or Priiloader for brick protection. Andby Matoking - Homebrew General
Everything you'll find at Wiibrew.org is 100% legal. Just use AnyTitleDeleter to delete all the "bad stuff" if you really want to.by Matoking - Homebrew General
I don't think there needs to be "pre-installation" services done for Homebrew Channel installations. If you can't install it yourself then you shouldn't be using homebrew at all. (Someone got stuck on getting homebrew to his Wii because he couldn't extract the .zip file and somehow got the idea it cost money, just to extract the contests of a zip file) Those "newbies" alsoby Matoking - Getting Started
Did you even read it? The usable methods you have are Bannerbomb v2, Indiana Pwns and Smash Stack if you have PAL SSBB.by Matoking - Getting Started
Fiddling with custom WADs without BootMii or Preloader is pretty much suicide.by Matoking - Getting Started
MPlayer CE used to work on my USB device but with the newest 0.76 it wouldn't work on it. I ended up putting it into a SD card.by Matoking - Homebrew Applications
You put your apps inside a SD Card/USB device in a folder named "apps"by Matoking - Getting Started
You are supposed to apps inside the "apps" folder you should have in the root of the SD Card. I would start by downloading and extracting Homebrew Browser into the "apps" folder and using that to download apps.by Matoking - Getting Started
Try using Bannerbomb v1 if you are on <4.2 or v2 if you are on 4.2by Matoking - Getting Started
For making the emulator read the files out of the USB device, just change the settings in the Settings menu.by Matoking - Getting Started
ALL CAPS IS NOT COOL BRO, IT ANNOYS OTHER PEOPLE VERY MUCH. What kind of a storage device are you using to launch the game?by Matoking - Homebrew Applications
QuotebeepbeepgoescarThis is going to seem like a really dumb question (it is and I've been out of the Home brew loop for awhile) but how do I install WiiSCU? I downloaded the version 23 zip file, I unpacked it, and I'm left with two folders. One is called "Source" and the other is called "Apps". What do I put on my SD card? Thanks for the help, also these forums are awesome. Great coby Matoking - Homebrew General
Most ordinary homebrew apps work with USB devices. I use my USB stick for everything but BootMii.by Matoking - Getting Started
Quotecactusjack901Quotemetroid_maniacQuotedarklinkit could also include the new DVDX title Or just use a "fall back" system: use USB 2.0 cIOS, or else use DISC, or else use DVDX. That's probably what they'll do, but hey, who knows. Also, as far as the new GUI, where can I go to submit a design? Here : The new GUI ideas look nice so far btw.by Matoking - Ideas, requests
Use tona's PatchMii cIOS. It's AWWWWlegal.by Matoking - Homebrew General
Technically, if you can access the BootMii/IOS, you can fix it without a NAND backup.by Matoking - BootMii Beta
There is a WiiCade API which can be implemented into Flash games for better support for Wiimote : Yeah, the whole emulator thing would be probably better, the Wii wouldn't have to choke on the other aspects of the website and the controls would be easier to implement.by Matoking - Ideas, requests
It hasn't been updated to support the new DVDx yet.by Matoking - Homebrew Applications
CIOSCorp replaces all Nintendo's IOSes, so you pretty much have to reinstall everyone of them to get the Wii back to what it was originally. (All way from IOS1 to IOS61 I think) But if you wanna just want to update the HBC, just install one vanilla IOS with Dop-IOS Mod.by Matoking - Getting Started
Use Dop-IOS MOD to install back all the vanilla IOSes. Oh, and don't use CIOSCrap.by Matoking - Getting Started
DON'T USE SOFTMODDING GUIDES FOR THE LOVE OF EVERYTHING. Especially when they come from GBATemp. Srsly. The error messages mean your IOSes don't have the bugs needed to use AnyRegion Changer. (ES_Identify, precisely) The latest 4.2 update also seems to brick Wiis which have been region-changed, so that's really not an option. You just need to change the display mode somehby Matoking - The Junkyard
